Challenge

Position SHOPRITE’S R5 personal care sachets not just as affordable, but as tools for dignity and empowerment. The aim was to tell a real, emotional story that captured the true value of accessible hygiene.

Solution

I developed the creative treatment for a short, documentary style film featuring BROOKLYN BARBIE, a local hairdresser offering free wash days to schoolgirls. The concept centered on how a simple R5 sachet can ripple out into restored confidence and care.

My role included:

• Writing and designing the full narrative treatment.

• Defining the story arc and tone.

• Aligning emotional storytelling with brand purpose.

Results

The film delivered a heartfelt, purpose-led narrative that brought product and impact together. It helped position SHOPRITE as more than a retailer — but a brand rooted in real communities and meaningful change.
